ArcGIS combining features with different extrusion heights into single feature

Question asked by LiborSvoboda on Mar 9, 2018

Hello,

I have a layer of floor plan with walls, pillars etc. where each feature has attribute height_from and heigh_to. In ArcScene features are extruded by these attributes. I would like to merge some of the features to create single feature (wall) but also to keep different heights for extruding them in ArcScene. Following picture might explain better: enter image description here

I would like to have a single feature (F6) that is composed by features F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5 with features F2 and F4 having different heights than F1, F3 and F5. Is it possible in ArcGIS Desktop or ArcgisPro to create some sort of abstract layer where its features are composed by multiple features from other layer? Like some kind of foreign keys pointing to primary key of different table.

I am aware of multipatch but having a single layer instead of layer and multipatch separately would be much easier for editing. (ArcGIS Desktop 10.5, Arcgis PRO 2.0)

Thank you for your help
