Features from Feature Service Being Deleted When I Create a Local Copy for Editing

When I add a feature service from AGOL to ArcMap and create a local copy for editing, many of the features get deleted.  What's really odd is that sometimes it works and when it fails it's unpredictable.  For instance, I added a feature service with 250 features into ArcMap and once I created the local copy, the number of features went down to 225.  I deleted the editing folder, closed ArcMap and redid the process.  The next local copy came in from AGOL with 250 features, but once I created a local copy I was down to 214 features.

I've been working with the same feature service for the last few days and it has been working fine.  I changed the name of the feature service yesterday in ArcGIS Online and this morning is when I started seeing the error.

Could this be due to the feature service being renamed?

Also, I'm working with version 10.2.
