Faces of a box

I have a kind of strange problem, I'm using the comp(f) to get the bottom of a rectangular box, after that I want to create a shapeL on the bottom, but to me it looks like that the scope of bottom is rotated så z is up, and xy is plan scope. I can't use the alignScopeToGeometry that the direction of the scope from earlier is important. This seems very strange to me, why would I want to change the scope when using the com(f) command?

when using the split(x) it gives me this, which is fine.

split(x) {3 : color(1,0,0) HFJD | ~1 : color(0,1,0) kpd}

and then the split(y) which should give notting gives me

split(y) {3 : color(1,0,0) HFJD | ~1 : color(0,1,0) kpd}

is there a workaround, when the scope is not changed from the scope of the original box?
