Hi.
I have EVA codes for all of my students via our campus site license. I believe this will give each student the 365 day education edition/student trial license. Most of them only need access to ArcGIS Online; they do not need to download any desktop software.
However I cannot figure out how they authorize and active the EVA code to use ArcGIS Online.
When I go through this link (http://www.esri.com/landing-pages/software/arcgis/arcgis-desktop-student-trial ) it leads only to options to download desktop. I cannot find any way to activate ArcGIS Online.
I assume that the EVA code can be used for Online, including credits.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks.
Hi Angela (and Dr. Carter):
ArcGIS Pro can be licensed in three ways - named user account in an ArcGIS Online organization, single use, and concurrent use. We recommend using a named user account (through ArcGIS Online) for a number of different reasons, such as close connection between ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online - without being connected to a portal, one cannot Share content, hence taking away the ability to publish web maps and layers, or leverage other online content. Also, in general when using a named user model, one is taking advantage of a Web GIS pattern, can license other apps (such as GeoPlanner, Insights, etc.) through ArcGIS Online, etc.
In terms of how provisioning can be streamlined, below are a couple of blogs related on best practices of ArcGIS Administration in general.
