When I use the union tool on two feature class, I get truncated field values in the output (7, 8 or 9 characters depending on the field). Is this a common problem ? Is there a way around it ?
Thank you !
Trying to screenshot my problem I realised that I could extend the column length for the problematic fields. This is such an obvious mistake, I'm a little embarassed. But at least this non-problem gave me the guts to ask my first question on an GIS forum. I hope next time will be for a more serious problem.
Thank you very much for your help !
can you show what you are talking about?
Are these in new fields or fields that may be being updated?
Does changing the order of the files participating in the union produce any difference?
No problem... congrats on your first question.. and congrats on providing a solution. Your first correct answer.
