Difference in color: mosaic dataset vs web map service

Hi,

We have published a web map service with a cache which is clearly different in color from source mosaic dataset.

In what direction should we investigate?

Mosaic dataset

Cache

ArcGIS Desktop 10.3.1, ArcGIS Server 10.3.1 

The tool is 

Manage Tile Cache—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop 

It does not contain any color settings.

Any help please.

Hi Mark,

whenever display is different - check the stretching-settings first: Converting a MosaicDataset to a cache (dont know wether you did it together with other data from a map document or from the mosaic right away) will apply either the default of the MosaicDataset - even if none or whatever the map document specifies. That could differ.

Here is the list of parameters

ManageTileCache_management (in_cache_location, manage_mode, {in_cache_name}, 

{in_datasource}, {tiling_scheme}, {import_tiling_scheme}, {scales}, {area_of_interest}, 

{max_cell_size}, {min_cached_scale}, {max_cached_scale})

Where is "stretching"?

Not in this parameters, but part of your Mosaic settings taking effect when adding it to ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap or any other display. See the help on “Source Type” of a Raster (and a setting in every Mosaic) and its effects …

I was under an impression that should work like

"what I see in ArcMap mosaic dataset        what I get in a cache" 

but it is not.
