I am trying to create a density map of student location. When the raster map is complete, the value of the spectrum is much higher than the total number of points. Why is that or what am I missing?
Can you show what you are referring to, since density is the number of observations per unit area over a kernel so I am not sure how or why you are converting the densities to a total count since each point isn't treated in isolation
Evidently I am not understanding density correctly. I am trying to create a density map, and have done so. What bothered me is that I don’t know what the values of the spectrum represent in the Table of Contents. Can you help me understand that? I have over 40,000 points and the spectrum range is from 0 on the low end up to 155,683,045,400 on the high end.
spectrum... you mean the symbology class values? They are # of observations per unit area... it doesn't mean that there are that many people there. It depends on your settings for Point Density and if you specified a conversion in there
