Hi! I'm working with an older version of ArcMap and having trouble getting my CAD files to come in and display in the same format (i.e. line wt, color, etc.).
I am creating a button that find the selected feature in Service Plates and display either a georeferenced TIF or the associated CAD file. The tifs were easy enough but I can't seems to get the CAD layers displayed with Cad symbology.
Here is what I have so far:
mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument('CURRENT')
df = arcpy.mapping.ListDataFrames(mxd)
cursor = arcpy.SearchCursor("Service Plates")
from arcpy import env
arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True
for row in cursor:
if row.getValue("STATUS") == 'Image':
arcpy.MakeRasterLayer_management("path to service plate images folder" + row.getValue("PLATE") + ".tif",row.getValue("PLATE"))
elif row.getValue("STATUS") == 'Cad':
# Set Workspace to Cad File
env.workspace = "path to service plate CAD folder" + row.getValue("CADDRAWING") + ".dwg"
CadLayers = arcpy.ListFeatureClasses()
for fc in CadLayers:
arcpy.MakeFeatureLayer_management(fc,row.getValue("CADDRAWING") + ".dwg " + fc)
If I then look at the properties of the Polyline layer (for example), I do not have the option to use the Cad Renderer:
What am I doing wrong?
