Hi guys

I´m trying to create some maps with printing services. On WMS services the legend is showed with weird characteres (attached).

We are running Portal 10.4.1 on Linux.

I wonder if those characters in the legend are considered part of a custom font on Linux?

Hi Jonathan

I´m not using any special fonts and I never saw an option to change fonts when I´m trying to publish a WMS.

I don't know if those missing libraries are related to fonts directly but they are definitely related to the graphical rendering pipeline on Linux.

I think I know the issue.

By default, the map surrounds in a default .mxd don't use Unicode fonts, and PDF has issues with font substitutions in some cases.

To confirm, does this issue happen when you print to PNG format?

The same problem with PDF or PNG

OK, then it's not the Unicode issue.

Try running yum install dejavu-sans-fonts. You'll need to restart ArcGIS Server after.

Randall

dejavu-sans-fonts was installed and server and portal restarted, but the problem is the same (map service or wms services).

Are you using a print service run from your local GIS Server, or are you using the ArcGIS Online print service? Also, please confirm that the fonts were installed to the GIS Server. The portal isn't doing to work to print.
