SDK, Python? How should I go about it?
in fact, templates of many kinds.... so you could have templates inside of templates
SDK ... or arcpy ... give little or nothing in building complete projects from scratch... which begs the question, what is it you need to do, that can't be accomplished by creating a project template (with others templates within for example) then modifying those manually as needed. Or even creating an interface to load one of several options? I guess it is the need to do it code-wise from scratch that I don't fully understand
I need to create 400 projects with similar graphic characteristics but different data. One project per building, every project will contain floorplans - i.e Layer group FLOOR 01 would be composed of three features: LINEWORK (Walls, stairs, etc), ROOMS (Polygon feature that contains room numbers) and GSF layer (Polygon representation of the Gross square footage of the building, similar to building footprint).
sounds like a project (etcetera) template with arcpy.mapping being used to change the layers, I would check the classes and methods there to see if you can get something working in an automated sense... then save the modifications to a new project.
Thank you, Dan,
