The tif raster displays as solid black

I referred to the following article in trying to resolve the black image issue.

I ran the Calculate Statistics tool and didn't receive an error yet the stats was not updated.

I created a tif from a mosaic raster that didn't have stats also, I don't know if this is an contributing factor.

Lastly, MUST I have the stats calculated to display a raster imagery properly ?

Hi,

even with statistics, this might be just an issue with the stretching you use. Go to the display properties and try "percent clip" first - that is a likely setting to solve it. Look at the statistics and analyze them.

I already have the Stretch set to Percent Clip

The statistics are uncalculated and can't be calculated. 

Thank you for the suggestions though.
