Minimalist app overriding hyperlink targets in web map pop-ups

I created a web map that features pop-ups with links to Google Transit. The popups look like this:

I used the following ArcCade expressions to build the hyperlink targets.  Here's one of the three:

var myURL = 'https://www.google.com/maps/place/';

var pluses = Replace($feature.STOP_NAME, ' ', '+');

myURL = myURL + pluses + '/@';

myURL = myURL + $feature.STOP_LAT + ',' + $feature.STOP_LON + 'data=!4m5!3m4!';

return myURL;

Next, I embedded these expressions into the pop-up using the "custom attribute display" configuration window.  The pop-ups and their links function as desired.

However, once we 'embed' the web map into the minimalist app, all three of the links on the popup lead back to the URL of the minimalist app, such as:

http://maps.ourorg.org/app/Minimalist/index.html?webmap=<ourwebmapid>&home=true&zoom=true&scale=true&search=true&searchextent=false&legend=true&disable_scroll=true

Note: we need to use the minimalist app rather than a simple map embed because we need to specify a proxy server for some of the map services and we have implemented a custom search box (geocoder).

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
