Whether I use the 84x67 image recommended when configuring the Basemap Gallery widget or the 600x400 used in ArcGIS Online, the thumbnail image is always a little stretched horizontally (or squished vertically). Never had this problem in Web AppBuilder 2.1 but seems to be unavoidable in Web AppBuilder 2.5.
