Invalid collaboration invitation

We have two portals on the same network both running at 10.5. We're attempting to set up a collaboration between them, so that content can be shared from one portal to the other. We've set up the collaboration on the host portal, but when accepting the invitation on the guest portal, it responds that it is not a valid invitation file. Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

 

I'm not sure if this is related, but since creating the collaboration, the collaborations menu on the host portal appears to me as a blank page (within the edit settings menu), but works normally for other administrators.
