I've come across some threads that say "branched from ..." and "see discussion in context". That looks like a really useful feature. How does one create a branch from an existing discussion thread?
That is a function available to moderators under the actions drop down for each reply on a thread. It is very helpful to create a new discussion for replies do not apply to the original topic.
Oh. Yes it's very helpful. It might impose less load on the moderators if people could do this themselves, but that's another thread. ;-) Thanks for answering my question.
Is there a convention or flagging method to hail a moderator to say "please branch this discussion _here_"?
Not that I am aware, but it is a really good idea to develop a standardized way of requesting it.
