Removing Georeferenced Links.

Hello ESRI Community,

I've erroneously georeferenced an aerial image that is used in multiple template MXDs (shame, shame). The current troubleshooting technique is to remove the links that were created in the Georeferencing window. But, I have to do this every time the aerial is brought in?

Each time I open an MXD referencing this aerial, it refers back to the links that were created. My thought is this change was permanently stored on my desktop or layer somewhere?

Does anyone know how to permanently remove these links and not have this occur when the aerial is referenced?

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
