She pointed you to the free courses.  I agree, the instructor-led classes can be a bit pricy, but their are a lot of free courses on that page and all the free tech sessions you can watch and learn, starting a Esri Videos | E360 Videos: GIS, Events, ArcGIS Products & Industries

And if you own a qualifying product (i.e. ArcGIS Desktop) and are current on yearly maintenance, then the Web Courses are free as well.
