I'm curious- how members does Geonet have? What are the stats for points? For example the mean, median etc?
I am not privy to that info. You used to be able to get counts on users when you could search by user name, but that capability has been removed for some time. That leaves Timothy
Also mentioning Christopher Catania in this thread who may be able to comment.
Timothy Hales provided some numbers back in November in a response to Lessons From Stack Overflow. Maybe he could update them.
Thanks Joshua- It would be interesting (at least to me) how many people have x number of points, y, number of points, etc. I guess the 2,438 mentioned are guys like you, Dan and me that actively contribute on a regular basis. Points wize, I think I'm ranked about 135 or so; well behind you guys, but when I think about 189K users and 17K fairly active users, that's not too bad...
Given how many users there are in total, I suspect the best he could manage is to breakdown the users by Point Level (1-9, I think). I am not a huge fan of how they break those levels down, but it would be something manageable compared to trying to split out point groups any finer.
I agree it would be interesting to see the stats updated since November, it will be 5+ months now. How much has GeoNet grown in the past several months? Both numerically and percentage wise, are more or less people actively participating?
Regarding rankings, your personal ranking in your profile space is likely incorrect. I can't say it is wrong for everyone, but everyone I have talked with has a goofy number. I think those personal overall rankings broke quite a few months back.
As of yesterday there are 217,798 registered users, and 20,379 active users from the past 30 days. I don't have the other stats readily available.
