Add delete protection to attachments on AGOL

I have a collector app set up for where people can edit the attributes of point features and/or add attachments (photos). This is all working correctly. 

Behind the scenes the "admin" team is tasked with editing and verrifying this data in a webmap.  The attachments show up in the editor window with a little red X next to them (See image). One accidental click on the red X and the images disappears forever. 

Is there a way to add delete protection to attachments or to somehow remove this red X? In some cases, we do want to delete attachments so do not wish to disable delete functionality entirely.
