Green Infrastructure in geometric networks

I'm wondering if any public utilities have started added green infrastructure layers to their geometric networks. We (public wastewater and sanitary sewer utility) are currently adding green infrastructure as "special structures" to our stormwater network but are looking for a more comprehensive way to account for these progressive additions as they become increasingly common. Any advice, or examples of similar implementation, would be much appreciated.
