Shape erased after install of ArcGIS 10.3?

Hello,

Recently I was reported that operators of 10.3 experience sudden erase of shape. E.g. after opening of previously fully working MXD they discover that some shapes are missing and has disappeared from the file system. The system staff dug into logs and found nothing. Is it possible that ArcGIS erased the shapes? I never experienced something like that.

individual shapes won't disappear from a file, but whole files can vanish if they were corrupted.  If you are seeing red exclamation marks, that simply means that your data files are not in the same location relative to the mxd and the project is no longer transportable... to fix this, you simply point to the new file location and the link will be re-established

Thanks Dan, but to is not an issue of shape displacement. The shape indeed vanishes. I'm doubtful it was corrupted since it happens after reopening an MXD without any previous error message.
