Be a wise consumer of "fun" posts too! Critical thinking.
"Be critical of the data" will be the new "be critical of the news"! It's always good to check, and double check to make sure things make common sense, and even to go further to make sure it isn't designed to mislead in any way. "How to lie with maps" comes to mind, but also, this essay on **** Detection by Howard Rheingold has some great tips as well. I wonder is there are any good resources for data "**** detection?"
Thanks very much, that is a great resource. I appreciate the work done by the Howard Rheingold and will follow your inquiry to see what comes up in the forum. There is a free class (follow link) that is currently being provided by the Knight Center which gives tips on where to collect data and because it is a MOOC (massive open online class) there will be lots of good sharing about sites.
