Concurrent Licensing being phased out under ArcGIS 10.5?

Our sales rep told us today that concurrent licensing will be phased out as 10.5 comes out. Anyone know anything about this? It's very concerning, as machine- or user-locked licenses would potentially represent a major problem - we have smart engineers who know how to do GIS but don't need (or want) to do it all of the time. My quick take is that loss of access to concurrent licensing reflects a lack of appreciation for how some companies do business. We use and value GIS as a supporting technology, but we are distinctly not a GIS firm, nor are we interested in pigeonholing staff into GIS roles.

My understanding is that concurrent licenses may be grandfathered in (for how long?), but I would most certainly resent having to purchase new additional locked licenses to accommodate growth in the future.

(I'd be delighted to hear that I've read too much into this phaseout -- but I am concerned)
