Generate service areas for polygons

I'm a new NA user, but I'm trying to generate service areas for polygons (areas of green space) in a neighborhood of our city.  I realize that the solver requires points (or location fields) to run, so I'm wondering how best to deal with this?

I've tried converting the polygons to points and using the vertices as locations, but without a standard "density" of vertices/polygon, that won't create consistent service areas between polygons.  I'm not sure if there's a tool that will insert vertices at a standard spacing in a polygon (the opposite of generalizing) allowing me to use this approach, or if there's a totally different approach that I should be taking.  Thanks for any suggestions!
