I'm new to ArcGIS and this forum, so not sure of the rules/guidelines .... I posted this question to the New to GIS section but did not get a full response. Hoping someone else can provide guidance. Also, should I delete that post? Is there a better place to post this question?

Question: How can I embed a URL in an annotation text box, so when the map is saved or exported to pdf, it is clickable? This is very simple let's say in MS Word.

If I put in www.google.com in the text box, it is clickable.

If I put in https://www.google.com , it is also clickable.

But if I put googleswebsite and have that linked to the URL (using MS word as the tool), it does not become clickable. I read somewhere that you can type in hyperlinks in MS Word and insert that object into the map, then the link works. But it doesn't seem to work for me.

So is there a way to embed a URL in an annotation text box? Is there some special hyperlink coding text I should be typing?

I do know how to do it in an attribute field.

Thanks!
