I have a new computer which will be the mainly used computer. The old computer has the license server on it. I would like to change the new as the server and the old as the user.
What version is your ArcGIS Desktop licenses?
You need to deauthorize the licenses from the old machine and authorize them in the new machine.
Check for the system requirements before proceeding with the new machine.
Version: ArcGIS 10.4.1
I got cut off with the support desk. This is giving me more help here.
Thank you that worked perfectly. Deauthorize old computer and reauthorize new computer. Link the new computer (license server) to the old computer (Subscriber/user).
by the way...the license manager and user can be on the same machine. Main reason to have the license manager on another machine is to make sure it is up/available if the "user" needs to reboot. That way if others are using the concurrent license, they have access still. Typically a server that doesn't get booted too often is a good choice. But in smaller offices, especially if you are the only user, this can be a desktop or the same machine. Just thought I would add that in case you weren't aware.
