Problems with custom styles in ArcMap 10.4.1

Question asked by jdunham on Aug 26, 2016

I have custom style files that I created and updated throughout various versions of ArcGIS/ArcMap without any problems. However, when I add them in 10.4.1, I don't see any of their symbology in Style Manager - all subfolders for the styles are whited out. I also don't see the symbols in my mxds. As an experiment, I created a new style file in 10.4.1 and added a symbol to it, and it worked fine. Does this mean that I'm going to have to recreate all my symbology in new style files for 10.4.1, or is there something I'm missing? I have a laptop that still has 10.3.1 loaded, and the same style files work fine there.

I'm running 10.4.1 on windows 7 Professional, running ArcMap as an administrator.
