Converting from SDE Command Line Views to SQL Server Views (Do MXDs need to be modified?)

We will be upgrading from ArcSDE 10.2.2 to ArcSDE 10.4.1 on SQL Server 2012 so we will be ready to migrated to SQL 2016 at the end of the year.  With the SDE command line views going away we will be recreating them as SQL Server views but the names and field types will remain the same.

Will we need to update MXDs that use these views in joins and relates?  Do the joins/relates break?

Hi Randy,

When you upgrade geodatabase and sqlserver, views are created in 10.2.2 will be intact. No need to recreate those views.

Mxd will have same view and joins/relates remain same with those existing views.

Thanks,

Biraja
