Layers created from copying overlay in presentation

Question asked by aceofnan on Jun 27, 2016

I am creating a map with 12 layers, entirely online. To save time (and because it's logical) I created my first few layers from an imported file, and then when I needed to make a new layer, just duplicated one of the originals and changed the name and parameters. This worked really well in the map builder.

However, now that I'm ready to assemble everything into a presentation, when I select one of the original layers for a slide, both that layer and the one I created as a copy show up, and I cannot get rid of it.

Do I really need to go back and recreate every layer by importing a dataset?

For perspective, here is the map

And here is the presentation

You can see what I mean if you go to Slide 5 in the presentation and compare it with the map
