Georeferencing coordinates are not lat and lon

I'm georeferencing an image, and I followed a tutorial that had me get the image corner coordinates from google earth and then add control points with X and Y coordinates.

However the X and Y coordinates of the control points don't seem to be latitude and longitude, as my image was made very small and placed off the west coast of africa, where 0,0 is located.

I manually selected the second point and the coordinates listed in the link table have X in the region of 7 million. Note this is around Ireland and UK.

What's going on and how can I set it back to normal angular degrees?

Using ArcMap 10.2
