I'm encountering such error and I have no idea how to resolve this.
This exception is thrown when I attempts to delete a version or when I attempt to query a feature layer.

popular error over the last number of years,

for example https://community.esri.com/message/604893#comment-604893

but one suggestion on another thread said it went away when they shut down arcmap, rebooted and started over

other than that tidbit and the one in the link, I can't find anything definitive

Hi @MarkSamuels

I got this error this morning, and I feel it has something to do with either the length of the filepath or the characters in the filepath.  The FGDB I was trying to use was buried very deep in the file system.  When I copied the FGDB locally to a very simple filepath I did not get the error anymore.

HTH

Pete
