Does anyone have for share or know of a community widget for rendering heatmap on a point layer?
Loren,
I have not seen a need as you can easily apply a heatmap renderer to a point layer in your Web Map using AGOL. and then use that web map in WAB.
Loren,
I'm on the same mission as well.
The 'Analysis' widget has a 'calculate density' function, but doesn't allow for 'glow' color change or size:
http://doc.arcgis.com/en/web-appbuilder/create-apps/widget-analysis.htm
There is a old (WAB 1.3) 'Heat Map' widget found here:
https://github.com/esri-es/Web-AppBuilder-Custom-Widgets/tree/master/HeatMap
...that in its original form looks to be at least the start of what we are looking for, but there's nothing after this that I can find. Let me know if you find anything.
UPDATE (5/4/2017) - looks like that older 1.3 version of the heatmap widget works in WAB 2.3. In its original form, its limited as the user cannot choose which layer gets rendered - the author of the map decides the URL of the layer to be rendered (see below), the user can only click the 'heatmap' button. Once this is done, the render layer is added to the map (and in the 'layer list') and the glow appears
.
I would gladly donate to someone who could provide code which would allow the user to enter their own URL when the widget is invoked. Being able to render a heatmap like this on the fly without having to go through AGOL/portal would be very helpful...
I am looking for this too... I'd like to be able to add a layer to a web app using the add data tool, then make a heat map from that... if you haven't yet, you should vote this idea up: https://community.esri.com/ideas/12442
Just a follow up - great work and progress toward a working HeatMap widget continues to be made here at this link:
