The animation at the top of GeoNet is kind of playing tricks with my eyes. Are we able to disable it on a user by user level?
I appreciate the feedback. There definitely was some conversation about it before we went live. There is not a way to disable it in the user preferences. It's a global setting. I will take this info back to our design team. Thanks!
I agree that it is unnecessary eye candy. The ability to change it on a user basis is not possible though. Timothy Hales would have to change this altogether.
"Eye candy" is at least attractive. Nausea-inducing gratuitous motion is something altogether different. :/
There may be browsers or browser extensions which could remove the animation, but suppressing this"feature" of the new layout is the better fix.
I have to agree with you... I suspect that no one did an analysis of how the user interface may impact the user... There can be health consequences not only inconveniences or preferences... thankfully they don't have flashing neon or rapidly flickering images ... yet.
Timothy Hales may have some commentary on this.
