I know the runtime SDK has a certain level of ability to do things with network data sets, mostly to do with routing and navigation. What I can't seem to find is any way to do linear referencing-type activities. For Example:
- Generate a point X distance along a specified route from start point Y
- Return point at measured distance X along line Y
- Etc...
Is there any plan to add this type of functionality to the runtime in the future?
This type of thing comes up when we are doing apps for construction monitoring, or if field users want to generate a test point along a transect. We currently have ways to "fake it" using stationing points or other data like that.
