How kriging works?

Hello, I want to understand how the kriging method in ArcGIS works, but I can't find the article which will explain it to me. Can anyone tell me as simple as possible how kriging works? I mean I'd like to get an example from real life to understand that mechanism.

consult the references at the bottom of that link, check the help files, figure out what type of kriging you want to do, then consult some books on interpolation etc and even those that focus on this topic and geostatistics in general.
