Lightshed Analysis for street lighting

Hi everyone,

We are trying to identify the best way to to perform a lightshed analysis in our community.  Typically, our streetlights stand about 300' apart.  The obvious step seems to be creating a buffer around each streetlight and seeing which areas aren't covered.  However, buildings are going to cause obstructions, so a streetlight on one street might appear to have a certain lightshed, but then there might be a building blocking it on one side so the light from that streetlight isn't going to hit areas of a perpendicular street.

If anyone has any thoughts related to this, I'd love to hear them!  Thanks!

Nikki
