No Subtypes for Water Geometric Networks

I just loaded our old Sewer/Wastewater data into the new LGIM 10.3 data model and I am having a problem now setting connectivity rules for edge/junctions.  I am attempting to add a wLateralLine rule to add a wHydrant to the end of a hydrant lateral.  The problem is that there are no subtypes for the wLateralLine so I can specify a hydrant lateral.  Has the new model changed to allow this or does anyone have any walk-throughs to do this as it was done before?

Thanks!

We removed the subtypes as most people did use the connectivity rules and utilize Data Reviewer to validate their network data.  You are welcome to change the types domain to a subtype if you wish to model the connectivity rules.

..."most people did NOT use the connectivity rules"... ?

So you need the Data Reviewer extension to use the out of the box LGIM for building a water geometric network?

Or you have to migrate your string fields and domains to integer fields and domains so you can create subtypes out of them?
