What is the error message? Snapshot of the error message would be helpful.
Meanwhile, you could check the following
1) Make sure your input/output feature class' pathname is valid and fairly short (Try to eliminate spaces and special characters except underscore in the folder name and filename). e.g. D:\Glacier_Proj\buffer.shp
2) Make sure your data and the data frame of ArcMap is having the same projected coordinate system.
The file is much more big, so i divided it into 3 part and then reproject them properly, and then tried. i have tried many times and noticed that the more value of multiring buffer i.e. 10000, 1000, 5000etc meter formed sucessfully but not the 15, 100, 200meter buffer distance.
your 1st suggestion i couldnot get it properly so please describe properly.
thank you sir for your valluable reply
those buffers may be huge relative to the size of the features ie. 10000 = 10 km
how many buffer rings are you using? 3? 5? >10? The more buffer rings, the greater the number of features the greater the problems, ...especially...depending upon the what type of buffers you are creating (overlapping, separate. So a detailed list of the options you are selecting will help
the buffer type is overlapping and no of buffer is 13
1.input feature----polygon file
2.output feature class----feature class
3. distances--15, 50 150,300,500,1000,5000,10000,15000,20000,100000,300000
Keep Outside_Polygons_Only checked and see if the error still persists.
it didn't work, sir
This may not help, but can you try running the process in foreground. Per your screenshots currently it's running in background. Error ID 99999 is generic and doesn't tell anything. But I have seen sometimes running the tools in foreground helps. Give it a try.
Refer following for processing options:
Foreground and background processing
by processing in this format it completed the processing but at last it couldn't merge all the layer of buffers. The error messege is like that..
so can you confirm
the invalid topology suggests that something is amiss in the inputs, or more likely when the results are compiled.
at the time of compile it failed.
did you do the incremental tests as I had suggested to see if it fails even with one buffer? I know you want them all...but if it fails on the first, then flailing around trying to get them all to work isn't a good game plan
the error message is like that.
Can you provide what was used for the options described in the help...
if you are using a tool, then a screen grab would be useful.
If you are accessing via code, then the requirements in the help topic and any sample code would be useful
Saw your image on another thread.
Either the data are:
Other things to try:
1.when i apply a single layer buffer file it works for every distance but for all layers at a time it failed.
2.sometimes i gave outputfile name like ''E:\himalayalitan\New Folder (2)\New folder\111.shp''
3.i dont know at what limit it stop working but the output always like ''failed in multiringbuffer'' for trying all layes at a time.
when i apply repair geometry tool it failed. i am attaching that file.
I suggest you stay on a single thread on a particular issue. Just reply on this thread rather than creating new thread.
I am also including the other two threads of yours regarding the above issue for others' understanding
Ahhhh based on your last image, it is clear... it failed because it was being run in 2009
Dear sir if the input file format is '' .lyr '', is there any problem sir.
yes...layer files have no table, they are associated with data, you have to use the shapefile or featureclass
sometimes, when i gave layer file as input, it work
i couldn't understand ''being run in 2009'', what is mean by 2009.
look at your results window and the run date wed may 13 ....2009
some temporal issues with your configuration?
i am sharing a link, from which i have downloaded glacier boundary
shape file, you please check what is the problem with this data.
i amworking on Himalaya part only.
