Georss in collector and arcgis apps

I have been creating some test apps using arcgis online which have georss feeds in them but while the rest of my web map is showing up ok in collector and the arcgis app (android), the georss feeds do not appear.  Is this because georss feeds are not supported in these apps or is there some setting on the layer I am missing?

GeoRSS is currently not supported in the app today. Here is a list of the supported layer types:
