Hi GIS gurus,
I'm trying to export a table selection using model builder and i'm getting this error. Does anyone have a workaround they've found to work for them they could share? Thanks
Have you tried exporting to a different file format?
Just a heads-up, old school .xls files only support 65,536 rows. .xlsx should support up to 1,048,576 rows. I would recommend you just export as a flat file (.txt) - you can use this anywhere, and it should be faster as it's just plain text, unless another format would make more sense for your specific needs. I like flat files, though... you could specify a schema.ini for the flat file as well, and if you import into Excel, you can specify format using the format wizard.
It should export as comma-separated by default; also, if your field contains a comma, it should qualify with quotes - ". If it contains quotes, it should escape them. If it contains quotes and commas, it should qualify and escape. Like so:
1,1/2/1985 13:00:56,"hello, ""Tampa"", FL"
When you import into Excel, the above would look like this:
This still limits it to 1048576 rows in excel
A popular topic this week.. this thread has many options and a discussion and text/csv files are the best for Arc-ish work
Dan Patterson Chris Smith Darren Wiens Thanks for all the help guys! Upon some more research, I found this, a toolbox built for exporting tables to Excel and .csv: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=f3d91b8f852042e289e09a7ec8342431 It completely skirts the row limit issue and works amazing!
You could also export as text but before you export change .txt to .csv. This will output all records as a csv file.
Try saving the table as a .dbf table then open it with excel
