hi everyone, i am a beginner learning how to use ArcGIS ArcMap. i got the GSM base stations mapped to the population density map. please can someone tell me how to count all the bases station that belong to each population density class
Solved! Go to Solution.
Extract Values to Points will assign the raster values to the points.
So you have a raster called "switz_pop_dense_class" and you want to find out which points in the later "GSM" (?) belong to each raster class?
Maybe the easiest way would be to convert the Raster to Polygons.
Then do a spatial join (joining the data of the pop dense polygons to each GSM point)
The resulting point featureclass can be used to summarize statistics based on the pop dense field (to get statistics for each pop dense class):
ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) or ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2)
Extract Values to Points will assign the raster values to the points.
That will be much faster! Good suggestion Darren Wiens , +1 for that
thanks for your assistance, problem solved
Could you mark the answer by Darren as the correct one, or if you solved it yourself, describe what you did and mark it as the correct answer? Thanks!
