Hello Everyone,

I have a brand new VM with Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. I have installed and authorized Portal for ArcGIS 10.3. However, when the https://<machine>.<domain>.com:7443/arcgis/home/ page is launched, its completely blank. I am not able to create the Initial Administrator Account.

Steps tried so far:

-Checked with the IT staff and they informed me that port 7080 and 7443 is open, but still its blank.

-Disabled Firewall and Symantec Endpoint Protection, no luck.

-Un-installed and re-installed Portal for ArcGIS 10.3, no luck.

-Configured IIS for https bindings.

-I was getting SSL certificate error on https://<machine>.<domain>.com:7443/arcgis/home page, so I imported the certificate in the Trusted Root Certificate Directory.

Please let me know what else I can try to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Richardson

Hi Richardson,

Make sure you have the latest build of Portal for ArcGIS (Portal_for_ArcGIS_Windows_103_144656; ver. 10.3.4322.1).

Uninstall all the ArcGIS Applications. Clear the temp files and registry (Run CCleaner.exe). Reboot the system.

Create a new Server Certificate in IIS Manager. Add this certificate for SSL binding (https; 443). Open https://<machine>.<domain>.com on your browser. If the IIS page comes up, then install Portal for ArcGIS first. The Initial Admin Configuration page should come now. Then add the web-adaptor, followed by rest of the ArcGIS products.

Hope it helps!!!

Thanks,

Jay

Hello Jayanta,

Thanks a lot for replying.

I have installed build 10.3.4322 of Portal for ArcGIS 10.3. I am not sure whether it is different from 10.3.4322.1.

Today I downloaded Portal_for_ArcGIS_Windows_103_144656 which seems to be same as the one which I have, however I will try following your steps with the new setup which I have.

I would like to let you know few more details:

1. I have used the "same setup" to install Portal for ArcGIS 10.3 on my network, Client 1 network and Client 2 network.

2. Everything is working fine on my network and Client 2 network, issue happens only with Client 1 network.

3. I installed Portal for ArcGIS 10.3 on another machine in Client 1 network and I face the same problem, this new machine does not have any other Esri software installed on it.

I will let you know once I try the steps mentioned by you. In the meanwhile let me know if you have any other suggestions for me.

Thanks,

Richardson

Hello Jay,

I tried the steps which you provided and I was able to install and configure Portal for ArcGIS 10.3. Seems like the issue was with the IIS on my machine.

I did not un-install all the ArcGIS products (I had Desktop and Server 10.3). I only un-installed Portal for ArcGIS 10.3 and deleted the arcgisportal folder from my drive.

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Richardson

Having this same problem with 10.6. The resolution as described above didn’t fix the problem. We are on the 3rd install attempt. Any ideas? SSL and all is good. The admin page is just blank and if you manually try to go to the /createadmin page a 404 error is generated. Thx.

I ran into this issue because I installed the web adaptor prior to installing Portal.  I simply uninstalled the old web adaptor and the create admin page became available.

Make sure that any portal web adaptors have been uninstalled.

Hello all,

I was setting up the DataStore (version 10.6.0) with a computer that had a touch screen monitor. I was experiencing the same issue where the DataStore configuration wizard would not display on the web page (the web page was blank).

I called Esri Support and found out that there is a bug with running the DataStore Configuration Wizard on computers with touch Screen Monitors. Even though I was using a second monitor (not a touch screen), the fact that my main monitor was a touch screen was enough to cause the wizard to not display.

For now, the workaround is to load the wizard's URL in another PC that does not have a touch screen. (or disconnect the monitor that is a touch screen).

Esri Support let me know that they are planning to fix the bug in 10.6.1.

I hope this helps!
