I formerly used TOPO! Pro's ArcGIS extension to import topo maps and elevation data.  Once moving to ArcMap 10, the old software is no longer functional or supported by National Geographic....for couple years now.  What is best way to acquire/import topo and also DEM data at 30m x 30m grid (NW USA).

The Arc data on line provides topo, but I found I could not turn on/off the hillshade--kind of lame.  The Arc data on line DEM is at 1 km x 1 km grid....basically useless.

Any help on this will be appreciated?

Hi,

Download NED USGS Nat Map Seamless Server: http://seamless.usgs.gov/
A good tutorial for downloading DEM can be found here: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~vmerwade/education/dem.pdf

You should also be able to retrieve topo maps from the Seamless server.

Hope that helps.
