Hi there too all of you. How can I classify the average temperature between 6 different territories. The raster image is avarage temprature in Iceland, and "mork_kjordaemi" are the terratories.
Best regard, Aron Leví Beck
Your question is a little unclear. There are many options for classification depending on what you need to visualize from your data. Are you asking how you can calculate the average for each territory?
That is right Sephe Fox
Ok, then you should use the Zonal Statistics tool, with your territories as your zone data, and mean as your statistics type.
Do you have any other solution Sephe Fox ?
You could extract by mask for each territory, Then for each individual raster, change the symbology to stretched, look at the histogram, and note the mean value.
cant use that eather. Don't have the lincense! Sephe Fox
I think you will have a hard time doing this without spatial analyst.
Sephe is correct. Most of the raster analysis capabilities are contained in the Spatial Analyst extension. Just to double-check, in ArcMap have you tried going to the "Customize" menu > selecting "Extensions" > placing a check in the box beside "Spatial Analyst"? You have to enable extensions even if you have access to a license. I would think that a student license would include Spatial Analyst along with most of the other extensions.
Let us know the results on the license double-check. If you truly don't have access to Spatial Analyst, then you might be able to come up with some clever vector-based approached but this could introduce some accuracy issues when converting from raster to vector. There may also be some other alternatives as well but it will ultimately mean more work to get at the information you are seeking if it is possible at all.
