Exporting a geotiff

I have been attempting to export a satellite image from arcmap and I cannot do it in the way I would like. I am trying to export a geotiff file so that it can be read in matlab. Every time I export, it is an image, not data. How to I export an image with correct lat long values so that it can be read in matlab?

Please clarify the following (imagery is generally, "data"):

it is an image, not data.

Is the problem that your image is not georeferenced?

Hi Michael, you might have to export your image to a text format in order to import it into Matlab.
