We are working through the GIS Tutorial 1 workbook and are hung up in Tutorial 5-7 with symbolizing after a join. The join works and the fields show up in the attribute table with values (not null!) and when we go to symbolize them, not all of the fields appear under the value drop-down.
They all appear to have numbers in them (not set as text) because in Excel they are right-aligned, not left-aligned like text should be.
- Why would fields not be available to symbolize?
- What changed between Excel and importing them as tables into a geodatabase?
We are using Arcgis 10.2.2 over Citrix and saving data to a networked drive, if that helps diagnose this.
