everytime i use geoprocessing tools such as "buffering", arcmap is shuting down.
I have already unistalled the program and installed it again but it is still shuting down..
here is the possibility causes :
1. your pc/workstation resources is not enough like RAM Memory, Processor or Free Disk Space
2. your data too heavy or processing data too complex, should be worked if the resources is enaugh
3. you have high end specification (e.g RAM memory more than 4 Gb, OS 64bit, Processor intel core i7,etc).
please try to install 64-bit background geoprocessing (available on ArcGIS Desktop DVD installer). ArcGIS Desktop is 32bit application, even though you have 8Gb for ram memory, ArcGIS Desktop only read maximum 3.25gb of ram (because its 32bit applicaiton). once you installed 64-bit background geoprocessing its will help to use large memory amount to do the large processing.
how can i install the 64-bit background geoprocessing? can i download it from this site?
by the way i do have 8 gb ram.
included on ArcGIS Desktop DVD Installer.
