Aerial Imagery

Question asked by drdavidpeoples on Nov 3, 2014

When doing standard editing in our .MXD, we sometimes benefit from aerial imagery that for now we have as layers that we can turn on when we need them. We use both World Imagery and Bing! Aerials. These services are helpful sometimes with seeing our lines, poles and larger equipment. However, the resolution is not good enough to see transformers on poles or most lights on poles. Also, the data available from these services is outdated. Have any of you guys out there found a way to use any of Google's services? From reading online and conversations with some other GIS folks, ESRI and Google do not seem to play well together. I know that it would be totally cool to use a tool like Google Earth in the same way we currently use World Imagery and Bing!
