I have routes that are driving routes between address, that have been looked up using Google. They are in a shapefile.
Now I am curious if there is a ready tool/script to introduce a little wiggle to these, to make them look more like GPS tracks. It is not too complicated to do this using ArcPy, and I might just go ahead and do it.
What I would like to do is to insert nodes every x meters (10? 50?) and then move that node randomly within a specified radius (3 meters? 5 meters?).
I am not sure it will look better in the heatmap that I am producing, but I am curious to see the result and compare vs straight lines/routes.
Any tips?
