i've been working on a map, go to layout view and set it up the way i like it. Next time I enter the map, and i go to layout view, the page is different and the setting i used have not been saved. How do I save my map (layout) so each time I want to print it, it will already be set up. I am coming from a cad background, where your "paper space" layout would be saved until you changed it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you saving your map as an .mxd? If you save it as an .mxd, your layout view should remain the same as it was when you last saved and closed the document.

yes saving it.  Let say I do a layout, print it, and then go back to data view.  If I zoom around in data view, and go back to layout, the layout is not displaying as it did before
